VIKING - Awards for lawn mower tractors
The garden tool manufacturer VIKING, Langkampfen/Kufstein, recently won the prestigious, oldest and world-renowned "Good Design Award" with its MT 6127 ZL lawn tractor. The development took place in-house at Viking. The design, which has now won the award, is a result of the long-standing partnership with the professionals from BUSSE DESIGN + ENGINEERING.
BUSSE has enjoyed a business partnership with VIKING for more than 20 years. When developing new appliances or models, the interdisciplinary BUSSE team does far more than just design and drafting. Construction services are also required, including prototyping for the construction of a proportional foam model.
Since 1950, the Good Design Award has been presented annually by the "Chicago Athenaeum," which is made up of the Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Center for Architecture, Art Design and Urban Planning.
Approximately 3,000 applications from nearly 50 countries are received annually for the coveted awards. In terms of the decisive factors for the awarding of this design prize - innovation, form, material, construction, concept, function, utility value and aesthetic impression of the products - the VIKING T6 Series lawn tractor was able to fully convince the jury in the "Vehicles" category. The fact that its response is also highly positive in practice is proven by the extremely successful market launch.
The T5 and T6 series lawn tractors were also cause for celebration. Thanks to their further improved functionality and refreshed design, they also received the red dot design award 2014.
