Suncomfort by Glatz / more sunshades with attention to detail
Rollout of the new brand design on the center pole sunshades. Early planning in the development of the design language is now paying off.
After we were allowed to develop a new brand design for the “Suncomfort” sub-brand of the renowned Swiss parasol manufacturer “Glatz” in 2021, this has now also been rolled out to other models, which have also been available to buy since January 2025.
When developing the new design language, its transferability to other models was considered right from the start. This meant that the new design features of the products defined in 2021 could also be easily applied to the now revised center pole umbrellas.
The attention to detail that we were already able to realize in the side pole sunshades can now also be found in these models. From the operating elements to the new aluminum profiles, the design continues right through to the ends of the struts. This now creates a coherent overall picture both within the individual products and across the product portfolio.
At the time, it was important to us to create a design that was characterized by elegant restraint and offered a unique character with a high recognition value for the brand.
The development of dozens of individual components, which had to combine high standards of mechanics, aesthetics and manufacturability so that the umbrellas could ultimately hold their own in a price-sensitive and highly competitive consumer segment, was also a challenge for the designs.
The new models once again focus on the needs of a young target group for price-conscious, sustainable consumption. Designed to be durable and repairable, many individual parts can be bought again. The design was therefore also deliberately created in such a way that it does not follow short-lived design trends that people quickly get tired of. In this way, we ensure that the design will still be perceived as pleasant in many years' time and strengthen lasting customer loyalty.
