The smart window handle from SIEGENIA is an active handle that can be controlled via an app. With a simple click, you can lock and unlock all windows from anywhere in the world and display the current status. The handle is an important hardware component in SIEGENIA's smart home world and brings the feeling of security and convenience to life. The smart window handle is the innovative upgrade to manually lockable window handles and eliminates the security risk of keys getting stuck and the annoying search for keys.

BUSSE was able to develop the smart design together with SIEGENIA and was involved in the technical implementation.

The major challenge in the design development was to convert the internal components in an appealing way and in the architectural SIEGENIA design language within very tight constraints. Both the mechanical elements, which have to be relatively robust, and the electronic components take up a lot of space in the handle. However, the external dimensions should not be unnecessarily enlarged.

Nevertheless, we have succeeded in creating a timeless, modern design that can be integrated into various living and building environments. A restrained yet concise design was developed that stands unmistakably within the SIEGENIA brand identity.
