Consistent Commitment to Climate Neutrality for 2021
BUSSE will be officially recertified as climate-neutral in 2021. The CO2 footprint was again reduced by over 25% compared to the previous year!
Despite the coronavirus crisis, we decided to make this important contribution to climate protection again this year and were able to successfully extend our certifications from 2019 and 2020 with a re-certification!
We are very proud that we were able to initiate meaningful measures based on the key figures and consumption figures determined in the first audit, which enabled us to reduce our CO2 emissions from 299 tons to 153 tons and now to just 113 tons! The quote from our auditor underlines this once again: "You are one of the very few of our customers who have now demonstrably systematically tackled and improved the emissions that can really be influenced. This is a great team effort, because many people in your ranks have taken up the issue and made an individual contribution."
Our employees are also very actively involved in climate protection, with some of them increasingly switching from cars to bicycles. Many thanks for that! Our "flex office" model has also been used for certain activities, significantly reducing commuting distances. This has saved over 150,000 car kilometers.
In addition, we were even able to reduce our electricity consumption to zero thanks to our green electricity contract. We were also able to significantly reduce business travel and the emissions of our company fleet by using demand-oriented vehicles - even before Corona - through more consistent use of web conferences for weekly status meetings in customer projects!
As in the previous year, we are offsetting the remaining 113 tons of CO2 emissions with Gold Standard certificates to support the construction of wind farms in CHANGBIN AND TAICHUNG and Pakistan and a biomass power plant in India.
