"Are you still living or are you already living?" - with this advertising slogan, a well-known Swedish furniture store hits the nerve of the times: your own four walls are increasingly becoming the cozy center of your life. Futurologists call this trend "homing". The home is becoming a nest in which people feel so comfortable that they spend much more time there: relaxing, cooking together or enjoying a home movie or game night with friends. This change in the structure and culture of the home has been particularly evident at the international furniture trade fair "imm cologne" in Cologne for some time now.

The idea of comfort dominates

Modern living means enjoying everyday life in a comfortable, design-oriented ambience. The focus is not just on chic furniture. A comprehensive concept of comfort is much more important: the home must contribute "all by itself" to making the environment pleasant - discreetly in the background, of course.

The roller shutter automation systems from Becker drives provide such comfort: they provide privacy in the evening and, thanks to sensors, also protect against glare from sunlight - always unobtrusive, but precise and reliable. This is only possible with high-tech, yet simple and self-explanatory operation.

The homing trend will ensure that the future belongs to complete home automation. Heating, shutter control and air conditioning, for example, are networked. Their interaction is controlled centrally and automatically. This saves energy - both in winter and summer. In addition, such a system ensures room temperatures at which everyone always feels comfortable.
