The user interface is at the heart of medical devices. The latest touch screen technology is combined with membrane keypads and rotary pushbuttons so that the user can operate the device easily. Modern screens visualize functional content and pictograms in a self-explanatory way. However, the trick is not just to make the most of the technical possibilities, but to offer a menu and interaction structure that is as intuitive and error-proof as possible. It is strictly based on the results of an analysis of the actual operating sequences and use cases.
