The sports-minded founders of the start-up company "DFK AG" set themselves the goal of creating one of the most compact and lightest rowing machines for everyone.
Through an innovative product concept, various training methods were realized and the product offers the user a high degree of flexibility for his individual workout at home without a permanent restriction of his living comfort. BUSSE Design+Engineering took over the technical development, the model construction and the development of the product design. At the same time as the current Kickstarter campaign, the technical details are being finalized for the official sales launch.
All previous products on the market are bulky and only suitable for a group of people with sufficient living space. Due to rising real estate and rental prices, this situation is getting worse by the day. Therefore, many users only have the option of either joining a gym or using alternative exercise methods without space-consuming equipment. A space-saving product is therefore becoming increasingly attractive and at the same time enjoys an ever-growing target group of the product.
This development project started a little more than a year ago with these requirements. In agile project steps, the basic technical concept was then continuously adapted and verified by means of functional models. The initial plan to use as many standard components as possible subsequently proved to be problematic, especially for the central belt roller. The worldwide search for a suitable supplier proved unsuccessful, and so it was decided to develop the central unit of the belt roller in-house as well.
Regular constructive jour fixe meetings were held during the development process, which ensured a close exchange of information between the customer and BUSSE.
BUSSE provided support not only in the technical details but also in the preparation of the project schedule, specifications, etc....
We are pleased to have once again successfully realized a new product vision with a start-up company and are full of drive to jointly implement the last meters to series production.
