We chose mountain hiking in the Allgäu as this year's engineering team event.
The Nagelfluhkette south of Immenstadt is an obvious and spectacular destination. Unusually after the long summer, however, the peaks we were heading for, "Mittag" and "Steineberg", were hidden behind heavy black rain clouds on the approach.
The cable car took us up in only a light drizzle and after a few steps we were able to stow away our rain jackets for the rest of the day. What luck!
First flat, then increasingly sporty, and finally with a dizzying ladder: the ridge hike up the Steineberg was varied and offered wonderful views on all sides. Almost all 15 of us even made it to the summit. Even the new hip made it all the way up.
The two weakened ones - Corona leaves its mark! - found quite a few porcini mushrooms in the meantime.
So everyone and almost everyone took a satisfied seat at the lunch table at the middle station, where thirst and hunger could be quenched with Swabian delicacies. The local technology museum was a fitting end to our excursion.
