Prototypes and 1:1 models are essential to successfully bring a product to series production. By means of virtual prototypes in augmented reality, we add an efficient component to the physical model construction and thus to the process of product development.
Design prototypes in original size can be integrated into reality in the customer's environmental context. With Smartphone, Tablet or Smart Glasses, the models can be easily and effortlessly viewed, evaluated and compared at any location.
Virtual 3D prototypes are faster and less expensive than physical design samples, which can also reduce the time-to-market.
The advantages of digital models are particularly obvious when creating variants or making short-term design adjustments.
Since the use of virtual prototypes does not require any material and also no transport costs, AR models are also an interesting solution in terms of sustainability.
There are various forms of representation for the realization of virtual prototypes. From the simplified and reduced 1:1 model in the early conception, up to the high-end model with realistic texture, material appearance and colour.
During the complete product development process, digital AR models help our customers to make decisions faster and to evaluate the design of new products.
In this way, the virtual prototype adds a helpful component to the physical prototype construction and ensures even better results in the development of successful products.
Furthermore, the brand experience can be positively influenced by Augmented Reality e.g. for market introduction and as a marketing tool. Products can be virtually placed and configured with potential customers before they buy them and are already within reach through this realistic interaction.

With the app developed by UJET, interested customers of the foldable electric scooter can experience the scooter via augmented reality. Using a selection menu, colours and design variants can be tried out and even functions such as the folding process, the movement of the wheels or the light can be simulated. The showroom thus comes directly to the customer and the scooter can almost be test-driven.
The augmented reality visualisations of the unic dog box support customers in their online purchases. Before the purchase, the dog box can be virtually faded into the trunk to test the different sizes. In this way, the AR visualizations help with the purchasing process and have a positive effect on the user experience during the customer journey.
