Industrial technology

The family-owned company BINDER specializes in the manufacture of various simulation chambers such as heating chambers, growth chambers and cooling incubators. As a world market leader, the company from Tuttlingen supplies scientific and industrial laboratories worldwide.

With the APT-COM 4 software, BINDER has launched a multi management software that can be used to centrally monitor and manage up to 100 simulation chambers.

After developing the screen content for the enterprise software internally, the design skills of the UI/UX design team at BUSSE Design+Engineering were called in to give the newly created user interface a final visual touch in terms of color scheme, layout and typography.

In this context, various designs were created, a direction was defined together with BINDER and rolled out to the overall system.

The focus of the visual redesign of the screens was on the central view of the devices and their measured values. Each card consists of several pieces of detailed information, such as individual device image, recording status, current measured values and specific warnings. The task was to prepare this information visually and to bring it into a uniform order. The user should be able to find and evaluate the contents quickly. For the color design, different shades of gray were used in line with the corporate design.

In the login screen, the red control triangle familiar to BINDER was used to create a connection between the device design and the software.

For the graphical display of the various measured values, the appearance of the graphs was modified and differentiated by color, and optionally marked with warnings and notes. Particularly when combining several measured values, it was important to clearly differentiate between them.

We are pleased that BINDER is successful on the market with the APT-COM 4 multi management software and that we were able to provide design support during the final phase of development.
